Small ships are viable against bigger ones, when you know what you are doing with it. Look, I'm not asking you to turn the asp explorer or the orca into fighting machines.but the small fighters? eagle, viper, cobra? they should have SOME kind of advantage, besides being target practice. If I want to pvp I have to buy one of these 5. so at this point I have to break down and buy one of the 5 medium combat ships. so fine, I can go without shields.until I show up at a resistance pocket and I immediately have every missile in the fleet fired at me. (like the pips on engines matter AT ALL in terms of positioning advantage.). OH and PS, in order to afford weaponry effective against larger ships, I have to sacrifice shields.so I play with 3-4 pips on engines and 2-3 on weapons. I really wish the eagle craft were more viable. and then even if I do manage to cripple a challenger, then it takes like 5 minutes of pounding to finally destroy it. (and of course when it does go down, it is hardly of any benefit. I have a turreted beam laser on top and two super penetrator, grade 3 rails on bottom.but not only is actually hitting the target almost impossible when you're trying to stay out of the nose of a challenger, but I apparently have to hit a module 5 times before it goes down. Of course the armor is a problem so I decided to go railguns. and the whole fight is me constantly pushing for position.

but I learn that it simply isnt a viable ship because the medium combat ships can generally keep you on their nose.
